How the split works

A half-and-half split divides each cost in two. It is the simplest rule and works well when both parents earn about the same.

An income split gives each parent a percentage equal to their share of the combined income. If one parent earns 3,000 and the other 2,000, they pay 60% and 40%.

Each cost is rounded to the nearest cent for one parent, and the other parent pays the remainder, so the two shares always add up to the full amount.

Keep track of these costs together

KidShare records each expense, applies your split, and shows both parents what is owed, so nobody has to keep a spreadsheet.
