Terms of Service
Effective date: March 11, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of KidShare, a co-parenting platform for managing shared expenses, schedules, and communication. By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using KidShare, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the platform.
Continued use of the platform after changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on KidShare. The platform is designed for parents and legal guardians to coordinate co-parenting responsibilities.
Children do not create accounts. All child-related data is entered and managed by their parents or legal guardians.
3. Account Responsibilities
When you create an account, you agree to:
• Provide accurate and complete information.
• Keep your password secure and not share it with others.
• Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You may update your account information at any time through the Profile settings.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use KidShare only for its intended purpose — co-parenting coordination. You agree not to:
• Use the platform to harass, intimidate, or threaten your co-parent or any other user.
• Submit false or misleading information, particularly regarding expenses or child-related data.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
• Use the platform for any illegal purpose.
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation.
• Upload malicious files or content.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. Family Data & Shared Access
KidShare is a shared platform. When you create or join a family:
• Both co-parents have access to shared family data, including expenses, messages, calendar events, child profiles, and rules.
• Extended family members (grandparents, step-parents, caregivers) may be invited with view-only access.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter, particularly regarding children and expenses.
• By inviting a co-parent, you acknowledge that they will have access to all shared family data.
In documented mode, messages are immutable and timestamped. This feature is intended to provide reliable records and cannot be selectively enabled or disabled by one parent alone.
6. Intellectual Property
The KidShare platform, including its design, code, branding, and content, is owned by KidShare and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the platform without our written permission.
7. User-Generated Content & Uploads
You retain ownership of all content you upload to KidShare, including receipt photos, messages, and child profile data.
By uploading content, you grant KidShare a limited license to store, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the platform's services to you and your family members.
You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload does not violate the rights of others.
8. Limitation of Liability
KidShare is a coordination tool for co-parents. Important limitations:
• KidShare is not a legal service, mediator, or financial advisor.
• Expense calculations and balance tracking are provided as a convenience. You are responsible for verifying amounts.
• We are not liable for decisions made based on information displayed on the platform.
• We are not liable for disputes between co-parents.
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Termination
You may stop using KidShare at any time. You can delete your account through the Profile settings.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.
Data deletion upon account termination is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the platform.
Your continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
